How to Do Old Age Makeup

Making yourself look 50, 60 or 70 years older seems nearly impossible, but here is a way to do it, so that with a little bit of practice, you'll be looking like your grandma!
Instructions

Things you will need:
  • A Ben Nye makeup kit
  • Bar of soap
  • Old age wig
  • Clothes to match the look
Step
1
First, find the right combination of foundation for your skin, matching the picture you have.

Step
2
Then, wet your bar of soap. Run it along one eye brow, up and back. Let it dry. This will glue down your eyebrows so that they don\'t poke out. Taking the back of your brush, gather foundation on it and softly run it over your eyebrows. When you have fully covered your brows, powder them.

Step
3
Apply the same foundation to the rest of your face. To make sure you have enough, take a tissue and pat it along your face. If a little bit of foundation comes off on the tissue, you\'re set. If there isn\'t any, apply more.

Step
4
Start by doing the shadows on your face. Combine the shadows until you have found the perfect shade to match your picture. Once you have found it, start to create the shadows.

Step
5
First, you will start with the forehead. Raise your eyebrows up (carefully, so that you do not crack your covered brows) and make a note of the wrinkles you create. Apply the shadow in those places.

Step
6
Locate your temples. You should drive a line from the end of your eyebrows to your hairline.

Step
7
On your eyes, start close to your nose, where it should be darkest, and create a 45 degree angle to the outside of your eye.

Step
8
Noses are one of the only things that continue to grow on your face, so widen it by applying shadow past your natural shadow, but add indentations in to make it look crooked.

Step
9
Create jowels on your jawline but making a semi circle from your jawline down to your neck. Give yourself a double chin, and draw a line where you chin meets your neck.

Step
10
Smile and trace where your face leaves those wrinkles from your nose to your mouth.

Step
11
Create wrinkles in the "eye pouch" and then little lines on your lips and by your eyes.

Step
12
Blend everything with a clean brush, except for the jawline, which can be blended down with your finger.

Step
13
Add highlights between the shadows. Create the color of your highlights by adding either a red tone or yellow tone to your white.

Step
14
With your stippling sponge (it looks like a black wiry sponge), go over your colors with reds, yellows and dark reds.

Step
15
Put on your wig and costume; apply street makeup to match your picture, and you're done!

Tips & Warnings

  • If the soap isn't working for you, you can also try a glue stick.
  • This may take a lot of practice, so don't be frustrated if it doesn't work out the first time.
